Thuraku - Safaris
This is the personal web-site of Washington Njagi. I am a tour guide for
safaris and a field research assistant. I live at the eastern slope of
Mt Kenya and have climbed the mountain forty-five times by now. The
purpose of this site is to provide information on the safaris and the
field research assistance that I offer. I organize ecotourism tours to
numerous places in Kenya and Uganda for small groups of independent
travellers. In the past four years I have also been involved with
several research projects and the filming of a wildlife documentary.
These experiences have helped me to develop profound knowledge and
skills in entomology, botany and elephant research. You can read about
this work and my tours by following the appropriate links to the left.
This site also contains a selection of the photos I have taken at Mt
Kenya over the past few years. For those preparing a trip or planning
field research in East Africa, I have provided a few useful links. I
hope you enjoy my site, and please feel free to contact me (with the
email link below), if you are interested in hiring my services as a tour
guide or field assistant, or if you have any questions. Cheers,
Washington.
